The BT Switch Off

Don't be left without phone or internet!

What is the BT Switch Off?

In November of 2017 BT Openreach announced its intention to switch off analogue telephone services. The traditional phone lines we have been used to for many years will very soon be no more. BT are already in the process of phasing out analogue services in certain exchange areas. This means new orders of traditional lines are no longer available in those areas.

What is ceasing?

If you are still using a traditional analogue line the 2025 deadline to switch to a digital network is fast approaching and you need to take action.

The following BT services are going to be withdrawn in December 2025: Analogue PSTN Lines, ISDN2 Lines
ISDN30 Lines, ADSL Broadband, Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC), Superfast Broadband

Frequently Asked Question

What Do I Need To Do?

The temptation could be to think that 2025 is far enough away to not have to think about it right now. Our advice would be not to leave it to the last minute. Get the ball rolling now. Why? If everyone has the mentality of leaving it to the last minute the workload for BT could result in delays. You could be left without phone and internet connectivity. Disastrous for any business.

Remember too that this will affect any equipment that currently uses your analogue lines – alarms, EPOS machines, door entry systems, CCTV, fax machines, lift phones and more. If you are unsure of how to go about switching, or the thought is overwhelming, give us a call on 01732 243100 or book a short 15 minute chat. We can help advise you on what your business uses that will be affected and the best options to switch to.
